Sorbents From DAWG

Sorbents are used in all different industries, applications and every day clean-up of spills both accidental and intentional. Sorbents are insoluble materials used to absorb or recover liquids through the priciples of absorption, or adsorption, or both. Sorbents are made in all different configurations that pick up and retain liquid that is distributed throughout its structure causing the Sorbent to bloat in size.

Sorbents are generally made in 3 different types. First being MRO or know as universal Sorbents that pick up every day fluids such as oil, coolants, solvents and water. These Sorbents are generally used in manufacturing and maintenance facilites to absorb every day leaks, drips and spills. The second type of Sorbent is Oil-Only that is useful in combating oil spills, which needs to be both oleophilic (oil-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repellent). Finally there is HAZ-MAT Sorbents that absorb aggressive fluids such as acids and bases.
