Dawg

For over two decades Dawg has been a leader in the spill containment industry. What we have learned over the years is that an educated customer is a smart consumer. At Dawg we don't hide anything, in fact we believe in giving our customers as much information about our products as possible so that you will know all the possible choices; and the pros and cons of each. Then you can make a better, more informed decision by knowing exactly what you are buying, as well as what to expect from each product.

Below you will find answers to common questions, a helpful containment berms material/application chart and links to other helpful information resources. If you have any questions, give us a call at 800-YEL-DAWG(935-3294). One of our Product Specialists will be happy to answer any questions you have.

What are our berms made of?

Most berms are made of XR-5 (8130) heavy duty geomembrane material or XR-3 (8228) light duty geomembrane depending on the customers specifications and application needs.

If you have a specific application that is not shown on the chart give us a call. Other materials are available for special situations and highly specific applications, such as arctic grade, 100% acetone approvedmaterial.

How do they compare to other materials in the industry?

Below you will find a useful application chart to help guide you in selecting the best containment berm material for your specific application.

Material Overview:

  • All XR Geomembrane products are classified as an Ethylene Interpolymer Alloy (EIA)

  • XR-5 grade is high strength and chemically resistant for maximum resistance to high temperature, and broad chemical resistance, including acids, oils and methane

  • XR-3 grade for moderate chemical resistant requirement applications such as stormwater and domestic wastewater

  • NSF 61 approved XR-3 PW grade for potable water contact

  • Heat weldable-thermal weldable for seams as strong as the membrane. Factory panels over 15,000 square feet (1400 sq meters) for less field seaming

  • Stability is excellent, with low thermal expansion-contraction properties

  • 30+ year application history
